One or more Assistant Professorships in Strategy, Organization and Management

At Aalborg University Business School, The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, is one or more positions as assistant professor in Strategy, Organization and Management available from October 1 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is available for a period of 4 years.

Jobbeskrivelse
The Strategy, Organization, and Management Group at Aalborg University Business School is a research group with a focus on the organization, management, and strategy of incumbent firms and startups. At the micro-level, the group is particularly interested in leadership, digitalization, careers, inequality, job satisfaction, strategic decisions, and the impact of organizational practices on employees. At the macro level, organizational change, organizational culture, transformation, digitalization, ecosystems, sustainability, and uncertainty are among the group's current strong interests. The teaching includes core courses in organization and strategy at both the bachelor's and master’s levels at the school. The SOM Group has an ambitious strategy to improve teaching and research by increasing the outreach and impact of our research projects. We aim to publish our research at the highest international level by building a strong culture of collaboration, interaction, and collegial support.

We are looking for candidates with promising, internationally oriented research pipeline in organization theory and organizational behavior, and/or human resource management to contribute to the development of the SOM Group. In addition to teaching and supervision in these fields, the candidates are expected to be able to teach state-of-the-art applied quantitative and/or qualitative methods.

Assistant professiorship
A position as assistant professor is a fixed-term training position which includes an obligation to carry out research and teaching activities. To a limited extent, additional tasks may be defined by the University. The appointment includes a requirement to attend a course in university pedagogy for assistant professors organised by the University.

The employment as assistant professor must not exceed a total period of four years at the same institution(a maximum of six years at assistant professor level at AAU and a maximum of eight years at assistant professor level in Denmark).

Qualifications requirements
Applicants for the assistant professorship are required to possess academic qualifications; for example a PhD degree or similar academic qualifications.

Assesment
Applicants will be assessed by an assessment committee.

Shortlisting will be applied. This means that subsequent to the deadline for applications the head of department supported by the chair of the assessment committee will select applicants for assessment. Before the shortlisting takes place, all applicants will get the opportunity to comment on the composition of the assessment committee. All applicants will be informed whether they are selected for assessment or not.

All assessed applicants will get the opportunity to comment on their own assessment, and may be invited to an interview and/or asked to give a trial lecture.

When the employment process has been terminated, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.

Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
