Awake Night Shift – 28-Hour Personal Assistant Position for Young Woman in Østerbro. Start: September 1st

Handicapformidlingen

AREA: 2100 København

ABOUT ME:
I’m a 25-year-old happy and positive woman living in a two-room apartment near Vibenshus Runddel with my cat. I study at university and have cerebral palsy (CP). I always try to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. I’m full of energy, honest, and patient.
I love to travel. I have family in Sønderborg and a boyfriend in Stockholm, so from time to time, the job may include trips to other places.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
In order to live my active life, you play a key role by helping me get the best possible rest at night. That’s why you’ll be awake during the entire shift, which typically runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00/7:30 AM. You’ll help reposition me when needed and also take care of some practical tasks like cleaning and entering notes into my speech computer. Once the tasks are done, you’re free to do your own quiet activities – while keeping an eye on whether I need help via a screen. You’ll stay in my living room, where my cat will keep you company.

Since I’m a young person, I’m not necessarily asleep when your shift begins. So your tasks might also include personal care, companionship, and evening routines, and in the mornings you’ll help me get ready when I have early university classes. For this reason, I am looking for a female assistant.

You will receive thorough training, so you don’t need previous experience in similar roles – what matters most is that you’re motivated, responsible, and willing to learn. And that you’re able to sleep during the day after your shifts 😉
The shift schedule is planned well in advance and takes both your needs and mine into account. Most of the time, it follows a 2-week rotation, structured as follows:

Week 1: Wednesday and Thursday

Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

You’ll become part of a team of seven assistants who cover for each other during holidays and illness. I’m looking for someone who would like to stay in the position for a longer time – ideally a couple of years – so we can build a strong and trusting relationship.
You don’t need to speak Danish to apply – I speak English and am happy to communicate in English in daily life. So if you’re comfortable in English and this job sounds interesting, I’d love to hear from you! If you’d like to learn Danish, this job is also a great opportunity for that.

Preferably, you are a non-smoker.

If you’d like to know more about me, feel free to Google my name: Astrid Siemens Lorenzen 😉

As a personal care assistant, you will become part of a good, flexible, and essential team of assistants who work together to cover all shifts throughout the year. The job takes place in the citizen’s own home, during leisure activities, social events, and on any outings the citizen wishes to take part in.
